Unsaid thoughts

The parent who is “extra” and is making it about them, even when they say it’s about their child.

The child who isn’t listening or engaged in your session.

The client who is pulling the wool over your eyes; there is no way they are doing what they said they would- no way.

And yet, we tolerate, we bemoan, we try again.

I used to think I needed the parent to calm down and relax, the kid to switch on and listen, and of course the client to suck it up and get it done.

And now?

My attention, for the most part, is way further up the chain. Less immediate. I’m getting behind the “action” of what’s going on in the here and now.

What do I need in my practice right now?

For those I serve. What experience am I creating?

For it to work? What needs to be true?

For me to be happy. What needs to happen?

Where does “need” actually show up for you in your coaching practice, right now?
