The word “work” comes from the Old English noun weorc and verb wyrcan, meaning an action, deed, or labor.
I’m “working” clearly means different things to different people. I’m busy, I’m stressed, I’m making money, I’m keeping my boss happy, I’m doing what I am told, I’m creating, I’m writing, I’m doing. We go on and on.
What experience would you like to create for yourself is a reasonable question to ask.
The nature of your work is, again, worth considering.
I still use the word work with others, “I need to do some work” or “I’m working,” when actually what I know is that I am practicing.
The word practice comes from the word praktikē, meaning “pertaining to action”.
Regardless of result, I’m in motion, and that is work.
