I got a “D” in English, and when it came to deciding which exam I sat at 16, I moved from “O” level to a CSE. I get it—English as I knew it then was not for me. The choice was: do well at CSE or struggle at “O” level.
I still misspell words like “becuase”, have little confidence reading aloud, and the moment I don’t recognise a word, panic sets in.
Maybe I’ll never write a book, publish my research, or give keynote speeches. Oh wait! —I figured out how to get it done. My workarounds help me communicate my ideas.
Are we saying if you get a “D” in PE, then it’s not for that particular student? Let’s hope they find a way, like I did —a workaround.
Is that really necessary?
